RALEIGH, NC — Hey guys, we (Meg & Eric) just want to touch base with everyone after an awesome first weekend of racing! First off, it was really great to see the number of women who came out to the races. Especially the big B/C field! It was great to see and hopefully the trend will continue throughout the season. Second, we started up a Facebook group for the ladies in the ACCC that you can find by searching “Women of the ACCC”.
We are hoping to get an active forum going for the women to talk about all things collegiate cycling. So if you are a lady (or a fella who is interesting in supporting women’s cycling) come on over and join the group! We would love to hear things that you did like about the weekend, as well as any questions, concerns, or complaints about the racing weekend. We are here to try and make sure that the ladies keep showing up and having fun. You ladies are the reason that the races happen, so we want to try to do our best to keep you happy and facilitate great racing environments! So help us figure out the best way to make that happen.
Team captains, if you would forward this post on to your teams so we can reach all the women in the conference, that would be awesome. Train hard! Looking forward to hearing from people and seeing everyone at week 2.
Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference
The Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference (ACCC) is a collection of cycling clubs representing colleges and universities from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina. We are one of eleven conferences that make up the collegiate program of USA Cycling, the national governing body of cycling in the United States. Our athletes compete in road, mountain, and cyclocross racing throughout the academic year at the conference level with hopes of qualifying for the USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships. For more information, please check out the ACCC website.
